Adding the Scandit Parser Library to your Project

This page contains installation instructions for how to add the Scandit Parser Library to your project.

Step 1: Unpack the Zip file

The Scandit Parser Library is provided in a ZIP file containing the platform-specific libraries (AAR on Android, static framework on iOS). The ZIP file also contains a sample application that illustrate how to use the library.

Step 2: Android

The parsing library is provided as an AAR file. To use the functionality of the library, simply add the library as a dependency to your project. First, you will have to make sure that the AAR file can be found by the build system. If you haven’t done so already, you need to configure a flatDir repository. This can be done by adding the following lines to build.gradle:

repositories {
      flatDir{
            dirs '/path/to/folder/containing/the/aar/file'
      }
}

The next lines add the AAR as a dependency. Add these lines to build.gradle.

dependencies {
   compile(name:'ScanditParser', ext:'aar')
}

Step 2: iOS

The parsing library is provided as a static framework. To use the functionality of the library, simply add the framework to the link phase.

  • Go to project settings and open the “Build Phases” tab.
  • Expand the “Link Libraries with Binaries” section and click on the “+” button.
  • Click on “Add Other” and browse to the folder containing the static framework and add it to your project.

If not already done, make sure your application also links to libc++.
