Scandit Data Capture SDK 6.18 Release Notes (June 30, 2023)
See also the System Requirements of the Scandit Data Capture SDK across all platforms.
New Features
ID
IdCapture now supports capturing both the Visual Inspection Zone (VIZ) and the Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) of passports.
It is now possible to run basic authenticity checks on VIZ & MRZ documents by comparing the data from the VIZ with the data decoded from the MRZ. Check VizMrzComparisonVerifier for details. This feature is currently in beta, and may still change significantly in the next releases.
Added IdCapture.applySettings() method.
IdCapture now supports capturing the visa number from a US Visa.
IdCapture now supports capturing the information from the PDF417 barcode of a US Common Access Card.
New Id Capture viewfinders style with textual hints and user guidance animations.
Added a callback IdCaptureListener.didTimedOut() invoked whenever a document is localized, but could not be captured within a period of time.
Core
Added Camera.fromDeviceCamera() to create a Camera from a DeviceCamera object.
Performance Improvements
Barcode
Improved Aztec code scan performance for bent and crumpled codes which is especially important for Railway tickets.
Improved scan performance of up-side-down codes for 1D fixed-length symbologies (e.g. EAN/UPC).
Improved scan performance for long rectangular MicroQR (rMQR) codes with perspective distortion.
Reduced CPU usage when data-matrix is enabled by a factor of 3 in many situations.
Bug Fixes
ID
Fixed an issue where some document images may be missing in the CapturedId result.
Core
Fixed Camera.currentResolution not being updated after execution of Camera.applySettings().
Fixed a camera settings issue where the zoom was not correctly applied on the running stream (zoom only available on Google Chrome - Android).
Deprecations
Barcode
TrackedBarcode.shouldAnimateFromPreviousToNextState has been deprecated. TrackedBarcode.location returns a continuously interpolated location so animating between locations is no longer needed.
