New Features

  • SparkScan has been expanded with a range of new features and improvements:

    • Introduced a smart battery management to lower the energy consumption and increase the up-time of the device. In our tests (repeatedly scanning a sequence of 5 different labels mimicking the user movement), this led to an improvement of up to 15% in battery life

    • Added a gesture to collapse the trigger button with a swipe from the setting toolbar to the edge of the screen

    • The setting toolbar icons have been slightly redesigned and grouped in categories

    • Added contextual messages within the trigger button, called toasts, to guide the user while interacting with the UI. SparkScan offers a series of built-in messages, but custom messages can be shown by using the method SparkScanView.ShowToast(). For more information, check SparkScanToastSettings.

  • Added support for Symbology.Upu4State.

  • AamvaBarcodeVerifier now performs document verification entirely on-device. However, to use it, an additional artifact is now required. Check documentation for details.

  • IdCapture now supports capturing information from the Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) of One-Way Permits to Hong Kong/Macau issued by People’s Republic of China.

  • IdCapture now supports capturing information from the Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) of APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Business Travel Cards.

  • IdCapture now supports capturing information from a Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) of the following documents issued by People’s Republic of China - Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong & Macau Residents (港澳居民來往內地通行證), Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents (台灣居民來往大陸通行證), Exit-Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macau (往来港澳通行证), and Exit-Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Taiwan (往来台灣通行证).

  • IdCapture now supports capturing both the Visual Inspection Zone (VIZ) and the Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) of passports.

  • IdCapture now supports capturing the visa number from a US Visa.

  • Added CapturedId.Age.

  • Added CapturedId.Expired.

  • Added AamvaBarcodeResult.RealId.

  • Added IdCapture.ApplySettings() method.

  • It is now possible to run basic authenticity checks on VIZ & MRZ documents by comparing the data from the VIZ with the data decoded from the MRZ. Check VizMrzComparisonVerifier for details. This feature is currently in beta, and may still change significantly in the next releases.

  • Added AamvaBarcodeVerifier which allows the verification of CapturedId instances on device.

  • For ID cards issued by the United Arab Emirates data parsed from the Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) is now returned automatically when IdDocumentType.IdCardViz and SupportedSides.FrontAndBack are selected.

  • Added IdCaptureFeedback. ID Capture allows to configure sound & vibration feedback to emit when a document is captured, rejected or the timeout occurs. By default the feedback is emitted when a document is captured.
