ID

  • IdCapture now supports capturing both the Visual Inspection Zone (VIZ) and the Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) of passports.

  • It is now possible to run basic authenticity checks on VIZ & MRZ documents by comparing the data from the VIZ with the data decoded from the MRZ. Check VizMrzComparisonVerifier for details. This feature is currently in beta, and may still change significantly in the next releases.

  • Added IdCapture.applySettings() method.

  • IdCapture now supports capturing the visa number from a US Visa.

  • IdCapture now supports capturing the information from the PDF417 barcode of a US Common Access Card.

Performance Improvements

  • Improved Aztec code scan performance for bent and crumpled codes which is especially important for Railway tickets.

  • Improved scan performance of up-side-down codes for 1D fixed-length symbologies (e.g. EAN/UPC).

  • Improved scan performance for long rectangular MicroQR (rMQR) codes with perspective distortion.

  • Reduced CPU usage when data-matrix is enabled by a factor of 3 in many situations.
